Installing a carbon capture facility at our Padeswood cement works will enable us to produce evoZero carbon captured near-zero cement.

evoZero achieves its near-zero footprint through the use of CCS technology, which does not change the chemical composition or performance of the cement. It has achieved the highest Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) low carbon rating of AA, independently verifying its performance as a near-zero emissions cement.

The product is already available from Heidelberg Materials’ Brevik cement works in Norway, enabling customers in the UK and across Europe to significantly reduce the embodied carbon of their building projects. It offers a transparent and traceable carbon accounting process, making it easy for customers to specify carbon neutral building materials with confidence.

Completion of our Padeswood carbon capture facility in 2029 will enable the production of around 800,000 tonnes of additional evoZero, enhancing availability of the product.
